Artist Boat Offering Help After Hurricane Harvey

One of our partners, Artist Boat, re-opened today.  They are ready to help with Hurricane Harvey evacuees. this is from their website. “Our offices and the homes of staff and board members were largely untouched by the storm.  Staff is eager to help with recovery efforts; we are offering our eco-art educational programs to shelters and evacuee centers.  If you know of a center whose leader is prepared for this type of help, (we think our program can help parents have some free time to use the phone and plan their next steps), please contact us at 409-770-0722 or 713-569-0722.    We will resume our public Eco-Art Adventures for the general public next weekend of September 12. Next week we will begin work with our school partners to assess their needs and determine how our services can scaffold and heal their learners. We learned a tremendous amount from Hurricane Ike and the nine-year recovery process. The impact of visiting undamaged and functional wetlands via kayak was amazing.    Reconnecting with nature was a powerful and healing experience.”
