You do not have to travel to the wild jungles to learn about ethnobotany! Join Trails as Parks naturalist Kris Linberk for an informal presentation about ethnobotanical uses of local flora at the monthly Lunch Bunch on April 11 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. After the presentation, stroll through some of Mercer’s West Side Arboretum trails, learn to identify herbaceous and woody plants, and discuss their growing requirements. Feel free to bring along a local flora identification guide and binoculars. Participants should bring a lunch and dress for the weather. Lunch Bunch is a free program offered at Mercer’s West Side Arboretum in the Cypress Pavilion that is recommended for participants ages 12 and older. To register or to receive additional information, call Mercer Botanic Gardens at 713-274-4160.
