Lake Charlotte and Cedars Hill Park in Chambers county offers camping, kayaking and wildlife viewing in one of the largest cypress forest on the Texas coast. Located off west of FM 563, this area offers visitors plenty of outdoor fun in the north part of Chambers County. Head to Cedar Hill Park to put your kayak or canoe in the water and explore the swampy lake and the nearby Trinity River. There are some hiking trails, picnic tables, restrooms (always a plus in my book), camping, and an observation deck for viewing the many birds that make this part of Texas home. While going to a well-known outdoor spot is always fun, finding a less known area is even better.
