During the first half of each class, this series of outdoor explorations of natural history will take you deep into various topics with regard to science and nature. During the second half, you will get the chance to use your new knowledge outdoors in some hands-on adult activities.
Learn about fun ways to use your certificate on our website! Teachers receive 2 hours of SBEC credit and Master Naturalists receive 2 hours of advanced training for taking these classes.

Skimmers and Dancers and Darners, Oh My! with Bob Honig

Please join us for this class about dragonflies. Using local species as examples, you will learn about the life histories of these beautiful, fascinating, and easily observed animals including behavior, reproduction, and feeding. You’ll learn the answers to such questions as: Is it possible to breathe and poop from the same orifice?  And what is the killer lip? Then we’ll go outside to see these fascinating insects in action.\

Date: Saturday, June 6 from 9:00–11:00 a.m.

Cost: $20 Member / $35 Nonmember

Instructor Info: Bob Honig has led numerous natural history field trips/tours throughout the Houston area, elsewhere in Texas, Glacier National Park in Montana, and the Asa Wright Nature Centre in Trinidad.
