Galveston Developing New Nature Preserve

Bird Watching Houston Arboretum

Galveston is adding one more reason to visit if you love the outdoors. They are developing the East End Lagoon Nature Park and Preserve, which is, no surprise, located on the far east end of Galveston Island. The plans are for a Large Visitor’s Center, hiking trails and more in an ecologically diverse habitat of 700 acres. While you can hike the trails now, they are often under water during high tide so hike at your own risk and definitely in wading boots. Fishing and kayaking are also possible in the preserve as well as, bird watching.
