Thanks to the very talented people at Texas Parks & Wildlife Department, you can view the video of Galveston Island State Park. Just 50 miles from downtown Houston, Galveston Island State Park is a gem of a park. It runs from the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico to Galveston Bay offering two very different habitats – beach and bay. The natural coastal setting is ideal for swimming, hiking, fishing, camping, picnicking and wildlife viewing. The hikes on the bay side are some of my favorite hikes in the area because of the uniqueness of the landscape. You see across the bay to the Galveston bridge, Moody Gardens and more. The wildlife is abundant but so is the sun. Wear a hat and sun screen.
