For a short hike and bike trail in north Houston, head to the Faulkey Gully Hike & Bike Trail. This 1.9-mile trail extends from Lakewood Forest Drive to Guernsey Road and accommodates hikers, bicyclists, strollers, wheelchairs, and scooters. It is a concrete trail but worth the almost 4 mile out and back hike. Most of the trail is at least eight feet wide so it accommodates both hikers or runners and bikers easily. A concrete under-crossing at Louetta Road allows for safe passage without having to cross a major road, which is very important if you have young bikers with you.
For access to the trail, park in front of the Heatherwood Clubhouse at 15118 Willow Branch Drive (off of Louetta).
