Hike Lake Livingston State Park

Lake Livingston State Park is one of the few parks in the area that is located directly on the shores of the lake. While the hikes at the park are not long and challenging, they are great hikes for getting your family out to experience walking in nature. The six individual trails include the 3-mile Livingston Trail, Horse Trail, Pineywoods Nature Trail, Oak Flat Trail, Main Trail, and Headquarters Trail. You can combine all of the trails to make a good half day hike where you will see most of the park, including the forest and lake. Other activities in the park include camping, fishing, swimming, and horseback riding. One of the best things is that you can be at the park in less than 1 1/2 hours from most of Houston.
